Itinerary

This 21 day tour combines the best of our trips across northern Australia from Sydney to Darwin. It comprises elements from: Sydney: Epic Blue Mountains; Discovery Coast Nature Tour, Reef to Rainforest Mountains, Daintree Rainforest Exploration and Best of Kakadu and the Top End.

Day 1-5 Discover Sydney Harbour’s abundant wildlife and experience the Blue Mountains on guided walks with Australia’s most esteemed naturalists, authors and bush-walkers.

Day 6-8 Spend a relaxing few days on the southern Great Barrier Reef in an eco-resort. Daily activities include dolphin or whale- watching (seasonal) on board the catamaran Blue Dolphin and a day trip to snorkel around the tropical coral cay, Lady Elliott Island.

Day 9-12 Staying at a secluded rainforest lodge owned and run by local wildlife experts, you’ll be treated to home cooked meals and share your space with birds of paradise and even the odd Cassowary. During three days touring the Atherton Tableland, you’ll see a breath-taking array of landscapes and wildlife, in the company of one of Australia’s best wildlife guides.

Day 13-16 Spend a few days between Cairns and the Daintree, discovering one of its best kept secrets - the Low Isles - with a family that grew up there. Walk on the seabed of the Great Barrier Reef surrounded by fish, learn about Indigenous culture and food, explore the mysterious Daintree River and search for cryptic animals in the World Heritage Area.

Day 17-19 During three days in the company of our nature guide in the north, you’ll be guided from Darwin to Mary River and Kakadu, exploring the escarpments, rivers, billabongs and forests for crocodiles, pittas and rock-wallabies, seeing rock ancient art and searching for the elusive Black Wallaroo.

Day20-21 Back to Sydney for a day in the city, time to relax, process photos and enjoy some sight-seeing before the journey home.
